Election Panel at Malmi Library

Representatives from the five largest parties from the 2021 municipal elections will be discussing municipal and regional election topics. The panel will be chaired by Kirsi Ojansuu-Kaunisto, pastor for social work from Malmi parish.

Panel Topics

The discussion will cover the following topics:

  • How growing Helsinki will manage quality services and the challenges that come with growth
  • Actions to take if/when the state doesn't provide additional funding to Helsinki
  • How to secure library and cultural services for everyone
  • Children and youth services: how to get qualified workers for daycare, schools, and child protection
  • Views on "giant daycare centers" and whether to continue with this approach
  • Changes in Helsinki police operations and reduction in preventive activities
  • Growing drug and substance abuse problems in Helsinki and solutions

Each panelist will have about 2 minutes to answer each question. Approximately 30 minutes at the end of the event will be reserved for audience questions.
